Bike to school project
Why do we want to bring bicycles to schools?
- Teaching balance and control of the bicycle from the age of 2-3 helps the psychomotor development of children and is a great first step to improve self-esteem and proprioception.
- All parents should encourage learning to ride a bicycle, to support independence and physical development.
- The inclusion of this activity would be an added value for the school and could also increase the number of enrollments in the school.
- All children love bicycles. (even if some of them don’t know it yet!)
But why do only a few schools offer this activity?
- Fear of falls and collisions between children. (especially between parents, and therefore by extension, also between educators)
- Unsuitable spaces or dangerous ground.
- Little knowledge of the ease of use and psychomotor utility of balance bikes.
Can these problems be solved?
- YES! We have created a Kit with everything you need to create a fun but also super safe path, so that children can play on their bikes inside your school.
- The balance bike is still not widely used in Italy, but it is the ideal tool to introduce children to “real” bicycles. In fact, learning to pedal on a bike is not the real difficulty. 90% of the work consists in developing the balance and coordination needed to balance while pedaling. The classic training wheels on the sides of the bike are useless, and only delay learning.
- Involving children on balance bikes instead will lead them to move onto a pedal bike without ever needing training wheels.
Here's our solution!
1: The path to get started
Learning to balance involves falling and getting up again, so it is necessary to ensure that the initial phase is not traumatic.
Using a shock-absorbing floor ensures that any falls will be just a part of the game.
The floor is made up of modules of various colours that can create a real path to follow and thus provide the first basics of road safety education.
Grey = road
Green = grass/off-road
Red = starting or braking zone
Blue = river (area not to be crossed)

The soft puzzle floor in linear assembly has a footprint of 3.5 x 14.5 meters, but with the same material it can also be assembled in other shapes to adapt to the available space or to make the game always new. Here you see some possible combinations, but they are almost infinite.
N ote: The perimeter edging is included with the supply, even if not visible in the images of the complete routes.

2: The bicycle
To learn to pedal, it is essential to start with the Balance bike, that is, a bicycle without pedals, which allows you to develop your balance before moving on to the classic pedal bicycle.
(beware of balance bikes that are too cheap; unfortunately to get good results you need to spend a little, otherwise you end up with bikes that are hard to steer, not very smooth, or with solid wheels that slip everywhere)
We have selected an excellent balance bike on the market with a magnesium frame, ergonomic saddle, MTB handlebars, and pneumatic wheels (non-slip).
The balance bike is the perfect tool for little ones who want to discover the world of cycling in a safe and fun way. It is designed to develop balance, coordination and motor skills, and its lightweight and durable structure and carefully selected components make learning to ride a bike a real pleasure.
It has a lightweight and durable magnesium frame , which ensures low weight and exceptional durability. The magnesium structure is ideal for the little ones, as it allows the bicycle to be easily maneuvered and transported. Thanks to the use of this material, the bicycle is stable and resistant to impacts , allowing intensive use on various surfaces.
It is also equipped with high-quality ball bearings , which greatly improve the smoothness of the ride, eliminating friction and resistance . The child can move freely, easily learning to maneuver and maintain balance. The ball bearings not only increase the pleasure of riding, but also reduce effort , allowing children to play longer.
The bike is ideal for children aged 2 to 5 years and with a height of 85 to 104 cm , which makes it a great choice for little beginners. Thanks to the carefully thought-out dimensions, children can freely reach the saddle and handlebars , which significantly contributes to comfort and a sense of security while learning.
3: The protections
Safety first!
And to protect the heads of your young cyclists, a protective helmet is essential.
Teaching them to use a helmet is also a great thing, as well as a smart habit!
We have chosen a lightweight helmet suitable for the small heads of your bikers, easy to wear, ventilated and with a rear adjustment wheel (essential for a stable position on the head)
